Folklore Appreciation Program had been organized by JWN to implement the expansion of Intangible Heritage by uniting several traditional oral storytellers from Peninsular Malaysia that are scarce nowadays. On 31st October 2012, JWN had invited leaders comprising of Y.Bhg. Dato’ Dr. Rosli bin Haji Saluddin (Tukang Teromba), Tn. Haji Ali Badron bin Haji Sabor (Penglipurlara), En. Ramli Mahmud (Awang Batil) and En. Ibrahim Kadir (Tok Selampit). They have presented oral stories of their respective state by using state dialects that they represented, namely Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Perlis and Kelantan.
Through this program, it has given a new life to oral tradition that is dissipating and can give exposure and new knowledge about the method of presenting different oral tradition according to region in Peninsular Malaysia. It is also an honor to oral traditional practitioner because Heritage Department has given them space or them to present folklore that is being forgotten and at the same time educates the new generation about the role of storytellers in society long ago.
