Ipoh Old Post Office Building located at Jalan Dato 'Sagor is actually a part of the building Ipoh Town Hall (Town Hall), which is then divided into two parts. The front remained the Ipoh Town Hall, and the rear is used as a post office. The building is located opposite the train station and was established at the time by the High Court (on the right). Post Office building designed by British architect a.bHubback, first built in 1913 and completed in 1916. The position of this building is in the heart of the old town of Ipoh, which is a major area of government administration in the UK. It is strategically located as it is on the network footprint heritage (Heritage Trail) historic building Ipoh City where the building Ipoh Railway Station, Town Hall, State Mosque, Police Headquarters Traffic, Clock Tower British, building the Ipoh High Court and buildings of bank commercial. All of these colonial buildings displaying the architectural style of European interest.

The building has a unique architecture as characterized by Roman and Renaissance architecture. The two-storey building surrounded by an arcade open or verandah upstairs and downstairs. This arcade decorated with columns and semicircular arches highlight the characteristics of Greek and Roman. Wall verandah (balcony balustrade) at the top level was built with simple victorian pattern. In addition, there is also a semi-circular windows (Arch-headed window) glass-paneled building was built around. Postal services in the building had ceased operations in 1983 and the building was taken over by the Perak Tourist Information Centre until 1995. Since that year the building was abandoned without maintenance. Accordingly, it sprung a leak and damage to roof tiles, channels rain water has broken down, rotting floor boards, and the trees have grown wild in the building, further damages the building.

Thus, in 2007, the Council of Ipoh City Council has applied to the National Heritage Department to make something of this building. Having studied and researched, JWN parties have agreed to carry out conservation work on the building. In 2009, conservation work has already begun and will be completed in 2010.
